SJP Foundation Match Day
Sunday 14th July 2024
Street Soccer Academy’s association with St James’s Place Charitable Foundation comes through our partnership with our official sponsor, Rhodian Wealth Management. Rhodian are part of a wider partnership, St James’s Place, which is one of the UK’s financial advice companies and it is the charitable foundation of SJP that has chosen to support the work of Street Soccer Academy by hosting this event. Please see below details of our partners .
Based in Manchester, we are ideally located to provide a bespoke, transparent Wealth Management Service to private clients, business owners, trustees and corporate clients within the North of England.
By putting our clients firmly at the heart of everything we do, we are able to build long lasting relationships. This allows us to help our clients achieve not only their own financial objectives, but also provide financial security to their family members so that generations to come can look to the future with confidence and optimism.
We chose to name our business Rhodian Wealth Management due to the following reason in a statement from our Director Kevin Murray:
‘After much consideration we chose the perfect business name, Rhodian Wealth Management. Rhodian Travel was the name of my late Father’s business at the time of his passing. My Father was sadly taken from us too early at 39 years old leaving 4 children and 2 grandchildren behind. Unfortunately, due to his unexpected and premature passing, combined with his focus being his family and his business, he always put off taking financial advice. As such, this left my Mother and I, at 3 years old, financially vulnerable as having not made a will, insured his life, or completed any pension or estate planning. This left a financial void in my early life that shaped me for the next few decades. By choosing this name for our business, it serves as a reminder to me and my team of why we do what we do and how important this is to our clients and the difference we can make.’

St James’s Place Charitable Foundation
We have a responsibility to use our influence and our money to make a lasting difference. Money has the power to change lives.
But money doesn’t change the world. People do.
St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation has been supporting those in need since 1992. We aim to make a positive and lasting difference to people’s lives by awarding grants to small and medium charities, supporting the incredible work they do in their communities every day. The Charitable Foundation has raised over £120 million so far, supporting millions of people across the world.
We believe everybody should prosper, not just the wealthy few.
Established in 1992, the Charitable Foundation is the one of the largest corporate foundations in the UK.* We support in the following areas:
- Helping children and young people who have a physical or learning disability or are disadvantaged
- Hospices
- Cancer support charities
- Mental Health
Our range of grant programmes reach out to smaller charities; ones which aren’t necessarily in the public eye but provide vital services in their communities.
Our own SJP community of employees and advisers take part in a wide range of fundraising activities throughout the year. We are proud that 80% of our employees and Partners make a regular monthly gift to the Foundation. Every pound raised is matched by St. James’s Place – with the company donating over £5.3m to the Charitable Foundation through matching in 2022.
The Charitable Foundation’s impact is far reaching and enables long-term positive change for the charities and the people it supports:
- Over the past 30 years it has granted millions of pounds to charities, with £10.1 million being awarded in 2022 alone.
- It provides funding and support to over 800 charities every year – with approximately 85% of funding going to charities in the UK and 15% overseas.
- 3.5 million people have been directly supported. In the past, the Foundation has paid the salary of a youth worker supporting disadvantaged young people and helped to build a specialist hydrotherapy pool for children with severe disabilities. We’ve been able to support another 7.7 million people indirectly too.
