Can you help raise vital funds for Street Soccer Academy?

It is around this time every year that Street Soccer Academy host their annual fundraiser, Soccer 24. Once again due to the restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus crisis it is not possible to host the football-based event. Following on from the success of the online fundraising event we hosted in 2020 we are looking to ‘raise our game’ to see if our supporters can help us beat last year’s total. Can you, as an individual, or as a group , come up with a 24-hour challenge and participate in LOCKDOWN 24 2.0 and help raise valuable funds in aid of our charitable work with isolated individual

What is LOCKDOWN 24 2.0

LOCKDOWN 24 is a 24-hour fundraising campaign.

• Fundraisers undertake a 24-hour challenge of their choice (individually or in teams)

• Participants raise funds via the event’s official Virgin Money Giving page, in aid of Street Soccer Academy ,

Charity no.1140394

• All funds raised by LOCKDOWN 24 go towards the ongoing work of the charity in their work with isolated individuals.

What challenges should I do?

It really is up to you. To make LOCKDOWN 24 accessible to all the challenges can be anything. Challenges can be done individually or in teams. The challenge could be 24 one-hour challenges or could be a team effort to achieve an accumulative target over a 24-hour period, either informally or using apps such as Strava or My Virtual Challenge. All we ask is you get creative, enjoy what you do and remember to sign up to our Virgin Money Giving page.

Stay connected

During the event we are asking participants to record their achievements by posting a photo or video hourly to social media tagging Street Soccer Academy, adding a link to their giving page and using

Step-by-step instructions to getting involved in LOCKDOWN 24 2.0

1 Sign up for a LOCKDOWN 24 2.0 Virgin Money Giving Page

Log on to the following link, click the ‘Start Fundraising’ button and follow the onscreen instructions to create your own personalised LOCKDOWN 24 giving page. www.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/lockdown24/2.0

2 Start Fundraising

Forward the link to your personalised giving page to family and friends to allow them to donate to your personal target, by debit card. (For this event no other fundraising method will be used). Don’t forget the link can be included in emails and all forms of Social media.

3 Plan your 24-hour challenge(s)

Ahead of the event day plan a schedule of the challenge(s) you will undertake. You will have seen many videos posted on social media by people carrying out any number of fun challenges. We want you to be creative, but remember to stay safe. The challenges can be sport or fitness related, linked to a hobby you may have or even, you learning a new skill or demonstrating a skill you already have. So lets see you do an hour of keepy-uppies, a session on a treadmill or even an hour’s chipping practice. For those undertaking team challenges we have seen bike-ride, running and swimming distance challenges with teams set a cumulative target to reach over the 24-hour period. The choice is yours.

4 The day of the event

Starting at 11:00am on Friday 11th June your challenge(s) will start with the 24-hour period ending at 11:00am on Saturday 12th June. At the end of each hour we are asking all fundraisers to post pics or videos to Twitter and Instagram, using the appropriate tags, hashtags and links to fundraising pages, to encourage others involved in the event, attract attention to the work of the charity and donors to your page.
